Atlanta based Rapper, T.I, has been offered the Executive Position at Atlantic Records. This all happens since Thursday, when Julie Greenwald got promoted to Chief Operating Officer, leaving the position free.
So what has T.I got to say about the situation, “It’s among the realm of possibilities..”. The problem is however that he’s got too many commitment issues at the moment including having to serve a prison sentence later this year. So is he going to take the position then? No official announcement has been released.
It could be possible however, Jay-Z famously took the role of President of Def Jam Records and Jim Jones was offered head exec of A&R for Koch. The problem is however that T.I probably won’t be able to take the job for another year. His commitments are to high at the moment. Especially after the success of Paper Trail.
So what will happen? Probably not a lot, after all it was only a thought that he could do it. They merely suggested that he could fill the role. Fact is, it’s just not practical at the moment and with them needing to feel the space now, I think T.I will have to wait.
We should definitely though remember the importance of this though. It is testament to Hip-Hop and shows that ‘Hustler’s Desire’. We can but have respect for these modern music icons and their entrepreneurial skills and they deserve all the recognition they get.
